I really liked this place. The room I was given was awesome. I slept very well. The staff were super nice. It is a nice little town as well. If I'm ever through again I would definitely stay here!
Stayed here in early Fall while passing through Harbour Grace. We were given a room in the adjoining building to the hotel. The room was big and clean, beds were comfortable with plenty of towels and hot water. We never ate at the hotel's restaurant but for what it's worth, there seemed to be a steady flow of people in there and the smell of the kitchen from the lobby was heavenly. There's a small, very clean bar/VLT lounge beside the lobby. Not much happening in there but it's got a big screen to watch the game and a bit of a 1970's rec room vibe which was fun.
Great deal for this price. Rooms are clean and spacious. Nice staff! Came with a cat, didn't have any issues.
I just spent a very comfortable and quiet Saturday night at the Hotel Harbour Grace. My room was clean and spacious with two queen beds, phone, TV, internet, fridge/freezer and coffee maker. My "smoking" room was in the "Motel" section...a separate little building containing 8 or 9 rooms along one long "hallway"...the last two rooms are "smoking" and I was delighted to pay only $89.00 plus tax for the privilege of being able to relax and have a cigarette! :) The ladies working at the Hotel were wonderful...the TV wouldn't power up so I went and fetched "Wanda" who led me back to my room and showed me a "light switch" on the wall in between the beds marked "TV"...boom the TV was on! LOL! :) Wanda was a sweetheart and informed me that they could give me a bucket of ice from the bar if I needed it and wished me a good night...and a good night it truly was! :) I had a restful, undisturbed sleep and would have no hesitation in staying at the Hotel Harbour Grace when I'm in the area again...oh and they have a nice little restaurant and bar too...yeah, definitely give 'er a shot! :) Adrien
We stayed here this past week and it was a great experience. It's close to sites of interest in Harbour Grace, and within walking distance of trails and some really amazing historical architecture. No, it isn't a luxury hotel and there's no room service. The decor won't win any design awards, but I can tell you that the beds are REALLY comfortable, they are more than generous with the plush, comfy pillows, and there are free coffee supplies in the room. The free Wi-Fi is nice and fast, and easy to connect to, and there are tons of TV channels. Also, there's delicious pub-style food on offer: good prices and very generous portions (a 2-piece serving of fish and chips was more than enough for my husband and me) that will engage and delight your tastebuds. If you're looking to retreat to a quiet, beautiful, historic Newfoundland town, this hotel is perfectly located. One tiny warning: keep your room windows closed if you're sensitive to noise. The shipyard across the street starts work early in the morning. Overall, I give this hotel an enthusiastic two thumbs up. Comfortable, exquisitely clean, with yummy food and a location that is just about perfect.
We had a wonderful at home Newfoundland experience at Harbour Grace. I can’t thank Edwina and all the staff for making us feel at home at this cozy, warm and friendly hotel. Excellent food and they stop at nothing to make your stay a positive experience. Highly recommend if looking to stay in Harbour Grace.
Had an amazing cod fish and chips dinner, my daughter has severe allergy to shrimp - anaphylaxis. They not only made sure her food was prepared in a seperate area, but also re assured her they made sure to take the necessary steps to keep her safe. All dinners for my parents, my daughter and I were amazing! Very surprised how the room was a perfect size for 4 of us for our vacation. Staff friendly, kind and very helpful. When I return to Newfoundland I will surely trust another stay at this fantastic hotel. Thank you so much for the great experience!!!
Our room was very clean. It's a bare bones place but comfortable. There's a restaurant in the adjoining building but we didn't eat there. It served our purpose nicely. Limited but free parking.
